NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil-Gold Review, Pictures and Swatches

I love experimenting with shades when it comes to my eyes. You can find almost every shade of eyeliner in my makeup bag; yes I even have pink eyeliner. I wanted to do a black and golden Smokey eye look for my cousins wedding and thus ended up purchasing this “NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil-Gold”. Today I will be reviewing it for you all.

My Experience with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil-Gold:

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil comes in white pencil packaging with a transparent cap on top. Since the cap is transparent you can easily see the shade without opening. So, the packaging is convenient and cute. The plastic cap is not very cheap and it shuts tightly which makes this pencil travel friendly too.

The shade is gold which intense gold shade with slight shimmers in it is. It’s a very versatile shade and can be used in daytime to create neutral look.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil has very smooth and creamy texture which glides easily without tugging lids. They blend easily using eye brush and even using finger tips. It has a mild crayon like fragrance but it’s not strong and doesn’t stay for long after application. The pigmentation is awesome and is easily buildable to an opaque shade. One single swipe gives you intense golden shade but you can swipe it more to get more rich color.

I have worn this NYX jumbo stick as eyeliner, eyeshadow and also used it as a base for other colors. It looks amazing when used as an eyeshadow and you can combine other shades to get different eye makeup look. When used as an eyeshadow base, it increase staying power of other eyeshadow and also keeps them intact. Not only it acts as a nice eye shadow base but it also gives a golden hint to the eyeshadow which looked very pretty and shinny. It doesn’t crease even after 4-5 hours. I have used it without primer underneath but for a more perfect look I would recommend you to use primer. You cannot create thin eyeliner lines with it because the tip is thick. For thin line, I take my eyeliner brush (the Maybelline one) and swipe it on the tip, then apply it on my lids.

The staying power is good and it stays for 5-6 hours easily without a primer. It doesn’t move even in the humid weather, so it’s a win-win for the staying power. I have also tried using it on waterline only for the review purpose. It fades within one hour of application when used on waterline. It doesn’t irritate or burn my eyes when used on waterline so people with sensitive eyes can use it without worrying about allergies.
