5 Easy ways to Contour and Highlight
Pay close attention to where light hits your face, every face is different, but generally it’s the T-zone, under the eyes, forehead and chin area. You need to highlight your best features and that’s where you should do the highlighting.
2) DEFINE YOUR FACE
The key is to define (increase, decrease, narrow or broaden the size) your face, in the photos, I am using make-up studio highlighting and contouring kit. As per the requirement of my round face I have defined the hollow of my cheeks, sides of my nose, forehead just below the hairline, temples, under the lower lip (to give the illusion of a bigger lip) and jaw line for a chiselled look.

3) AREAS TO BE HIGHLIGHTED
The area to be highlighted are –the bridge of nose, under eye area till the temples, just below the hollow of cheeks(optional) and chin area. Here I am using Kryolan foundation two tones lighter than my original skin tone to highlight.
4) BLEND
This is one mistake which many of us make. Here you are not dumping a product on your face, so blend blend and blend as blending is the key. All the above steps are useless if you do not blend well as without blending you will get a very cakey look(very much like a clown 😉 .) You can yourself see the difference in the photos, with and without blending.
5) Final Look
DO’S AND DONT’S
*Layer your foundation-Follow your routine of concealer and foundation and then highlight and contour.
* You must “Blend blend and blend.”
*Highlighting is done according to individual face shape. Do not copy paste.
*Please take a flash photo of yourself to make sure no harsh lines are visible. If they are then blend again.
*This technique is not for everyday use.
